The color commentator for the Iowa Hawkeye football team Ed Podolak had his usual fun in Tampa on new years. These photos were taken of him while he was intoxicated. What do you guys think? Is this acceptable behavior for a guy who is supposed to be representing the University of Iowa?

ReplyDeleteFiring Ed would be a very hypocritical thing for Iowa to do.
I agree in a way, Dan. But Ed also has to represent Iowa when he is in public. It will be interesting to see what happens.
ReplyDeleteI'm really conflicted about this one. I love listening to Ed and would miss him tremendously if he were gone. He does have a drinking problem and it needs to be addressed. The only thing that softens the impact of these pictures is that the lady doesn't seem particularly offended and like Dan said above - things like this happen all the time..
ReplyDeleteI'd fire his ass........he represents the University of Iowa, and with that comes certain responsiblities.......one is not being wasted in public and staring down a random ho's shirt....i guess that's better than him grabbing a chick's bare ass like someone i know, but still........if anything, barta should issue him a warning saying if he does this again he'll get axed

ReplyDeleteI think that would be appropriate. I am not sure who runs the radio network - which may complicate the issue - but I am sure that the University has a say in the matter..
yeah its clearchannel i think. But the announcers are employed by the University of Iowa I think.
